The Threshold Hour
4am is a threshold.
The world is quiet.
The nervous system is open.
The mind has not yet taken control.
It is a space between rest and action,
where presence is more accessible and intention can be set without force.
The early hour supports stillness, awareness, and clarity.
What happens in The Hour?
Each morning follows the same simple structure, guided by David.
1. Silence
We begin in silence, allowing the body and mind to settle before the day begins.
2. Orientation
We reconnect with who we are, what matters, and the stance from which we choose to act.
3. Intention
We clarify what we actually want across the dimensions of our lives — without pressure or force.
4. Commitment
We get clear on what matters today, what needs to happen, and what integrity requires of us.
This is the daily work for living phenomenally.
How it works
When: We meet live each morning from Monday to Friday, from 4.00 – 5:00am (NZ time)
Where: Online, via Zoom. This is a live practice. Sessions are not recorded or replayed.
Group size: the group is currently capped at ten participants at all times to preserve the quality and integrity of the shared practice.
How long: You choose your level of commitment:
– One week
– Two weeks
– One month
– Three months
– Half a year
– A full yearStart: You can begin as soon as there is availability.
Different time zone?
For those joining from other time zones, the exact clock time may differ, but the value of the shared hour remains the same. You may choose to take 10 to 15 minutes beforehand for your own quiet settling, so you enter the session already grounded and present.
The Arc of The Hour
We begin in silence.
This is a time to arrive – to let the nervous system settle and the mind soften before the day begins.
No thinking, planning or doing. We connect with breath, with ourselves.
At this hour, the world is quiet.
The mind has not yet taken control.
Awareness is more accessible.
This is about remembering being, before roles and responsibilities take over.
From silence, we orient.
We connect with who you are, not as a identity, but with the deeper sense of who you are beneath what you do.
This is a time to sit quietly with questions such as:
Who am I, beneath everything I do?
What am I, at my essence?
Why am I here, at this time in my life?
There is no pressure to analyse or resolve anything.
This is about orienting yourself to who you are choosing to be, before the world makes its demands.
From orientation, we clarify intention.
This is a space to get honest about what matters now – across the dimensions of your life.
Not ambition, fantasy or dreams, but what matters now.
This is about honesty and clarity about what you actually want – and the willingness to honour that and step toward it.
The final part of the hour brings intention into action.
You get clear on what needs to happen today – what must begin, what must stop, and where integrity requires movement.
This is not rushed planning.
It is clean, grounded commitment.
You leave the hour knowing how you will meet the day.

Who is this for?
The DG 4am Club is for people who:
-
are willing to meet themselves in stillness before the day begins, even when it would be easier not to
-
sense that clarity, courage, and integrity come from presence, not striving
- want to meet life more honestly, not more forcefully
-
value consistency and rhythm over intensity and occasional effort
- want to live in closer alignment with what truly matters to them
If this stirs something in you, you are invited to join the sacred hour of the morning.
