Exploring how the teacher shapes the environment in which students learn.

The Guardian Teacher Immersion is an eight-week journey for teachers who want to consciously shape the culture of their classroom.

Working within a small group of educators, we explore the deeper influence a teacher has on the environment students learn within – the presence you bring, the relationships you cultivate, and the culture that forms between students and teachers. Each session creates space to step back from the pace of teaching and reflect honestly on the environment you are shaping.

Between sessions the work is lived directly in your classroom. Observing, experimenting, and refining how connection, courage, responsibility, and learning are supported in everyday moments with students.

The strength of this immersion lies in that immediate practice – exploring ideas together, then living them with your class. Over time, teachers begin to experience how a strong classroom environment allows learning to organise itself more naturally, regardless of the pressures the wider system may bring.

Who this is for

This is for teachers of both primary and secondary schools who:

  • recognise the influence they have on the culture of their classroom and want to shape that influence with greater intention

  • care deeply about the environment their students learn within.

  • genuinly want classrooms where students feel safe, connected, and willing to try.

  • are willing to reflect honestly on their own presence and influence in the room.

Practical details

  • Opening Workshop – full immersion to set up you for the expedition ahead
    – 9am – 1pm online on a weekday during school holidays

  • Weekly live group sessions
    – Sessions are on Tuesdays 4pm
    – Sessions are recorded and shared

  • One-on-one time halfway – for personalised guidance

  • A private online community space for further guidance, integration, and connection with the group

  • Group size: a group of maximum 10 educators

  • Guidance & integration: clear guidance, reflection frameworks, and practical plans between sessions

  • Pricing: the total investment for the 8 Week Immersion is NZD $2,000 excl gst
    – $500 is paid on registration, the remaining amount will be invoiced.
